Summary/Review:
The storytelling in this book felt so beautiful. Aizah has a big imagination especially when she rides in Baba’s taxi. Baba works very hard and very long hours so he often misses school events such as Daddy-Daughter dance. Even being all together as a family takes hard work. So, Aizah decides to plan an event of her own for her Baba.
I am not sure I expected to have such a connection to this story. The story of hard working dads to provide for their family doing a job that they might not necessarily feel proud of. Without being preachy or overbearing rather through Aizah’s love for her Baba. I love how Aizah’s innocence and child POV is beautifully presented without judgement but with a beautiful imagination. Baba is hard of hearing and I appreciated seeing Pakistani Sign Language presented in the book. Mama is shown in hijab when outside and without in the house.
