Review:
We are blessed to live in a large city where we have the option of attending multiple masajid during Ramadan. This story took me back to when my family and I first moved here 25 years ago and we were praying in a tiny space that was rented during Ramadan for taraweeh prayers located above a tire shop. And to think how our Muslim community has grown over the years. It all had to have started with a family or two.
This book is exactly that, Zain starting his own cardboard masjid and the only other Muslim family in the neighbourhood joining in. This Ramadan story is unique and wonderful. It is an example of how a community paves the way for it to become something larger in the future. I appreciated this Ramadan story and reminds us and our kids to be grateful for our established communities and their humble beginings.
