Welcome to My Book Nook!

As a mother of young children, I found myself on a journey to nurture their love for Islam — one book at a time. But I struggled to find the right books that presented Islamic values in a way that was engaging, age-appropriate, and most importantly, authentic.

When I was given the opportunity to curate books for a small library at our local masjid, my mission became clear: to seek out high-quality Muslim children’s literature created by Muslim authors — books that reflect our values, spark curiosity, and build a love for both reading and Islam. I realized that this wasn’t just my struggle — it was something Muslim parents, Islamic schools, and masjid libraries everywhere were searching for.

In February 2019, I started the Muslim Kids Book Nook bookstagram account to create a space for parents, teachers, and librarians to find and access meaningful Islamic books for children.

…how it’s going!

In March 2025, I became a published author of the picture book Amar’s Fajr Reward, inspired by my grandfather’s unwavering commitment to salah and love for the masjid during difficult times in Kosovo.

I have learned much through this project and hope it’s just the beginning, excited to share a piece of my heritage with young Muslim readers.
