Summary/Review:
Learning a new language at any age can be tough and deflating. This stunning poem takes the reader by the hand across forests and mountains, seas and deserts, and up the open skies; a journey of history and heartfelt connection through its whimsical pages to encourage them in the learning of another language. The beautifully written verses and its universal message along with the captivating illustrations make this book the perfect read in a diverse classroom setting. This book can spark so much beautiful discussion around languages with the little ones. The book is not Islamic, it is not meant to be but this poem is inspired by the author’s family and their personal journey to learn Arabic and read the Qur’an. I absolutely love this book and encourage you to seek out a copy from the library or gift it to your loved ones, or a teacher.

Last month I had the incredible opportunity to attend the book launch celebration for this amazing book and support our local author. This is a reminder that supporting our local Muslim authors can done in so many different ways. Showing up for their author events is one of them.
