Summary/Review:
It was a delight to receive this unexpected surprise in the mail. Living in the digital era where recipes from around the world can be found at our fingertips, where we scroll endlessly to try and find the right recipe at lightning speed, this book really brings a sense of nostalgia that I never realized was missing. A cookbook. Allowing us to slow down and visually take in the dishes one page at a time. Not just that – it is a cookbook that revolves around Ramadan meals, catering to Muslim families, pun intended. 😊 This cookbook offers a gentle guide of information, mainly personal recounts from the author about her inspiration to cook. I am keen on a few recipies that I have been meaning to try myself like Aromatic Somali Rice, Saudi Kabsa Rice, Upside-Down Chicken Rice, home made Kunafa and more. I love the format and the thick pages that give this book the vintage feel. Stay tuned in my stories during Ramadan where I might share the results of the meals that I will be trying out inshaAllah.
