Summary/Review:
This book just took my breath away. This is another book that offers a refreshing new perspective about this blessed month. It explores in depth one of the most beautiful and spiritually uplifting experiences in Ramadan: A Ramadan Night. From hearing the adhan engulf the city of Damascus, to walking the busy streets where everyone is going in the same direction, attending the masjid with the community, the sweetness of taraweeh prayers and more.

The story is set in Damascus, Syria, which is why I love this book 2-fold. 1 – the fact that it is unapologetically Islamic and highlights the joy and beauty of ibadah. and 2 – And parallel to joyful Islamic rep, is a beautifully joyful Syrian rep!

The text is captivating and lyrical and flows beautifully. Makes you want to read it over and over again. I love that both author and illustrator are Syrian and share their fond childhood memories of their Ramadan in Syria.
