Islamic Content: How to navigate big feelings Islamically
Concerns: None

Summary:
Bilal’s day felt overwhelming. His siblings fighting, out of his favourite cereal, new guests visiting with a crying baby, uncomfortable clothing he had to wear…It was a matter of time until his big feelings took over.

Review:
The main focus on this book is teaching the readers how to regulate big feelings through different calming techniques and the sunnah. The book starts with a Guide for parents and caregivers and ends with reflection questions, hadith references and the interactive spinner. I like that this book joins together the universal calming techniques and the Islamic perspective to controlling anger. Islam a wholistic way of life and should not be treated as something we do separate from our daily tasks. It narrated in a matter-of-fact way which is the case for many non-fiction books resources. But part of me wishes that the story would have had a more of an engaging edge to it. This is a good resource to have home as well as Islamic settings such as masjid libraries and Islamic schools/classrooms.
