Review:
This picture book is written in lyrical creative language. The words are heartfelt and beautiful. The illustrations accompany the words on each page wonderfully. This is a story of a Muslim family taking refuge. There isn’t any specification about where Amina and her bother are fleeing from or where they find safety. I love that there are Islamic references in this refugee story.

What makes this publication different is that this book is produced in collaboration with Human Concern International where they help millions of people during natural disasters and provide help to refugees all over the world.

Because of my own lived experience, refugee stories have a special place in my heart. Get your copy from Ruqaya’s Bookshelf.
