Review:

This raw and comical take on a kids struggle to balance his school, extracurricular activities during the month of Ramadan is so relatable and heartwarming. It is a graphic novel which showcases the family life of Muslims trying their best to get sleep when they can (after fajr, after school), patiently waiting for iftar and attending nightly taraweeh prayers. My 8yo and 10yo, got their hands on this graphic novel before me and had my ears perked up every time they giggled. It has been a while since I read a good graphic novel with Muslim characters and content. Get your hands on this book for your middle graders for insight and relatable experience as they might be experiencing their first Ramadan where they will be fasting the whole month.
