Summary:
Sarah has her Eidi bag ready for the Eid money she will collect. But no one seems to contribute any coins to her Eidi bag, not like they did back home. Sarah’s Eid was definitely different this time.

Review:
SubhanAllah, this story brought tears to my eyes. It took me back to my very first Eid in Canada and how some aspects of Eid were disappointing. We had no family bustling in our home, we hadn’t made friends just yet. It felt like a lonely holiday compared to what we were used to back home. And of course, no Eid money. But just like Sarah’s family, we learned to let go of some Eid traditions and make new ones over the years. The story is beautiful and unique. it’s about expectations, change, adjusting and new traditions. This story is so heartwarming and relatable for many of us where we try to find ourselves in new places. Just because Eid is different, it is not a bad thing. Sarah finds a new use for her Eidi bag and that is okay. I am so glad I purchased this book, however I have a feeling this will hold deeper meaning for me than for my children.
