Review:
Noor gets her dad’s help to get creative in the kitchen. even though her dad offers to buy her and her friends pizza to make it easier on them, I love that Noor wants to share her grandmother’s traditional dish to share with her friends. As soon as I read this book, it reminded me of the picture book Bilal Cooks Daal even though the plot is slightly different it did provide similarities. This book is cultural, Islam isn’t really in the book. There is one salaam and her grandmother has hijab when noor facetimes with her. It’s an adorable book to share with kids to give cultural insight through a cultural dish. I borrowed this book from my library so you can checkout your local library to read this story with your kiddos.
