Review:
GAH!! I wanted to love this book so badly! My daughter has the same name and I purchased the book for her amazing story and contribution to Islam but I wish I didn’t have to review it in this way.
Firstly, the book is written in rhyme and I think this is the root cause of all the issues in it. I tried to read it silently and out loud but I my toungue kept stumbling over the words and it frustrated me. There are so many awkward sentences because of trying to force it to rhyme, and the rhythm wasn’t consistent.
Because of the sentence structure I don’t know if the young readers will understand most of the book. Although there are picture books that are inspired by her story, there are none that narrate her actual biography for this age group and this book could have been it, but it wasn’t. Sigh.
