Review:
I don’t really know how to review this book, and to be honest, I don’t think I am qualified to review it.

I started reading it a couple of times but it was weeks until I picked it up again, for some reason it was difficult to get into it. Once I pushed myself to get past the 1st chapter, the middle was fine and again found myself skipping paragraphs in the 6th chapter. The style in which this book was written was overly descriptive, in some cases I found it added depth to the story and in others, the story would have been fine without them.

Aside from the core events of Yusuf’s a.s. biography in this book, there are literary liberties taken by the author to embellish the storytelling. I feel like some readers will love it and enjoy the reading experience it offers and some won’t because they will get stuck trying to figure out which details are part of Islamic sources and which aren’t. There is an emotional dimension that the reader will find in here as well.

The illustrations are absolutely stunning on every page and I enjoyed the artistic details. There is Arabic calligraphy sprinkled throughout. The physical hardcover binding, matte finish cover and the glossy pages make this book a beauty displayed on the shelf.

The foreward is written by a shaykh who has read and approved the storytelling which will bring ease to the readers ages 12 and up.
