Summary:
Idrees needs new shoes to be the best runner in the school and show his bully his speed. When mama gets him a used pair gifted to them by his next door neighbour, he is disappointed. When he is put in a position to choose to race or do the right thing by his neighbour, he doesn’t hesitate!

Review:
Usually stories with a moral message tend to come across a little preachy with the adult giving advise to the protagonist, but this story feels so natural. Kids are often put in a position to make a choice in the absence of adults and this book shows the protagonist recognizing the right thing to do and stepping up.

Honestly, I don’t think stories like this one are apreciated enough by Muslim parents. In my experience, most Muslim parents seem to want non-fiction Islamic stories while discounting these that promote positive charater traits in real life circumstamces. Having good character and akhlaq are a huge part of Islamic teachings so why these stories are overlooked, I still find it hard to understand.

Book about kindness and choosing to do the right thing.
