Review:

This picture book gently touches on family, love and loss. Although the names are Muslim, there is no religious connection in the content and the message is very universal. Raya is the older sister that anticipates the arrival of a baby sister. Her love for her baby sister shines through her imagination. She experiences grief, alongside her parents and it is shown in a gentle way without upsetting the young readers. This book definitely is recommended to those families that have experienced a similar loss. It helps kids process things through.
