Review:

When we say we want unique and memorable Ramadan stories in the sea of ‘let’s learn about Ramadan’ books, this is exactly what I mean. This book is not like any other Ramadan story your children will read. It’s about family, compassion, generosity, refugees and dua. The weaving of different messages within this book is nicely executed. This story will spark so much discussion with little ones. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous with vibrant colours. I love the visual details on each page. There is a page showing Zahra and her parents lined up making dua with their palms up that some may find unusual. Because they aren’t in a position of salah, I personally think it’s okay. The back of the book provides a two page spread with information about Ramadan, Fasting, Eid ul-Fitr, Refugees, Foster Care and Shelter. This sweet story is a must read for our kids and a great addition to Muslim and diverse bookshelves.
