Review:
It is interesting to see animals in Muslim storybooks. I guess because most Muslim stories are written to reflect Muslim children and their families, this Muslim bear family is definitely different. It is a bilingual book, English and Arabic. It mentions zakat ul-Fitr and Eid sunnahs in the story. However, the story itself does not have depth or a lesson. It is a generic, how this bear family prepares for Eid ul Fitr. It’s not to say that there is anything wrong with this storyline but it definitely wouldn’t be memorable or something that my kids have been eager to re-read. Also, the pinwheel in the book is called a fan. Maybe this is reflective of different regions using a different name. I would say this book can be read for very young children. It can be used as a discussion to introduce to Eid sunnahs.
