Review:
This picture book begins with a sibling interaction that soon turns into a rhyming exploration of a few cool professions. This is only the 2nd book I have come across that discuss careers which center a Muslim family and characters. I like that this book includes career choices that are uncommon to find in picture books in general. While the premise and concept is very unique, part of me wishes the text wasn’t in rhyme. At times the rhymes are forced and I had to reread to get the flow right or understand what it was supposed to mean. The illustrations are absolutely adorable throughout the pages. There are some underlying messages that are touched on, like feeding the poor, caring for the ill, taking deep breaths when frustrated and more. These side bits can be used to spark discussions with your littles ones. A cute book to have on your personal or classroom shelf.
