Review:

Rukhksana Khan is an incredible storyteller. Her published works truly speak for themselves and I am so thrilled to see her back in the grind after so many years. This wonderful folktale gives us an incredible spin on a ‘prince and princess’ fairytale. The stories of Disney princesses mainly focus on beauty and looks so having the Khan choose his wife based on her intelligence and wisdom is an important message to young readers. This story is fun and inspiring. My kids have asked me to read it to them multiple times and they still giggle when we get to the end. The illustrations are absolutely stunning with each page spread and the details in patterns and designs. The mastery of Rukhsana Khan’s storytelling and Ayesha’s expertise in Islamic Art is the perfect way to bring this story to life. This is a must have read for Muslim kids, especially one that showcases such incredibly rich culture and history.
