Review:

This book highlights the importance of speaking up to bullies and the start of a new friendship. Sami is shy and lacks self confidence but he finds his voice when the new kid in class is put through unwelcomed opinions about his appearance. The storytelling is easy to follow and the illustrations are adorable. I like that Sami is determined in finding friendship with Gamba and shows interest in learning more about him. Speaking up can be a daunting task, and sometimes we find power in speaking up for others rather than ourselves. Sami is a shy and readers can witness his character grow as they read the story. This story can definitely spark discussion on bullying and how to navigate through it if kids are faced with it.
