Review:
This best friend duo keep the reader on their toes as they try to outsmart the school blackmailer. Shirley is a mysterious character that have you trying to figure her out. She is a true detective at heart that goes undercover to get insider information about their target. Jamila is Shirley’s sidekick as she tries to navigate her new friendships. Jamila’s mother has a hijab and that’s about the extent of her identity that is apparent in this book. The story is very entertaining and which kid doesn’t love graphic novels? This would be an excellent back to school read in time for the fall.
