Review:

School starts this week here and this book is the perfect story to remind our kids, the privilege we have when it comes to access to education. The story follows the struggle of Sofia trying to come up with ways to raise enough funds for her to return to school. The main message in this story is that you don’t have to be a grown up to make a big difference. I love that Sofia is the one who tries to solve her dilemma and works towards contributing to a solution rather than being instructed by the adults. On the other hand, I love the adult figures that are places that to steer her in the right direction. Her mother encourages her and the journalist she meets inspires her to write stories that are true to herself. Sofia finds her way beautifully. I definitely recommend this book for classrooms and personal bookshelves.
