Islamic Content: Month of Ramadan

Summary/Review:

Moon loves to watch families around the world partake in Ramadan. From sighting the new moon, abstaining from food, doing good deeds, reciting Qur’an, having Iftar, up until the celebration of Eid. The illustrations are gorgeous; each page spread offers a different setting in different parts of the world. The purple colour tones are truly stunning! Thus the nature of this book is visually diverse, not only culturally, also includes Muslims with disabilities. The text is written in 3rd person narration. The text covers a lot of information about the observations of the moon witnessing different families during Ramadan. It highlight so much more than just fasting. The backmatter offers a lot of insight about the lunar cycle and the phases of the moon as well as a full page of Ramadan glossary. If you are a teacher looking for a diverse Ramadan read, this book is a great pick.
