Review:

Finally! I can’t believe that this book has been out since 2018 and I haven’t read it until now. Ilyas and Duck are such an adventurous duo. They are likeable and funny. They talk about fasting, compassion, gratitude empathy and most importantly, Allah. While this list is mentioned in the book, it gives a very short, one sentence description of what these big words mean. The book is written in rhyme that works and flows easily when reading.

Then Mister Mean comes into the picture and of course the friendly duo has to put a stop to it. Ilyas and Duck turn into sheriffs to defeat Mister Mean. However, they don’t really defeat him, he just gets away as my daughter had observed.

Although Mister Mean bit feels a little disconnected from the main purpose of this story, the likeable duo really carry this story well. Their comical and quirky style keeps the kids engaged in the story. It was a good read for us and I am glad we now have this in our collection!
