Summary/Review:

This book is another refreshing read with a unique approach to gratefulness. It is one of those books that you should not judge by its cover but only by the content within its pages. It begins with the protagonist narrating the wonderful things about her home. As the story progresses, you realize that things are not as they appear. It addresses I have read this and re-read it and it just such a clever way to show our kids to count our blessings. Not only count them, but to seek them out and intentionally look for them when we feel things aren’t going as we expect. The illustrations really set the tone and the mood for this beautiful story. The language is quite simple, yet every word is intentional. There is no Islam mentioned. The book is set in Istanbul and on the last page the mother is illustrated with hijab. The message is universal and I would recommend it for every family and classroom bookshelves.
