Review:

In this book, we get a glimpse of Eid celebrations in an African-American Muslim household. Eid preparations, 3 generations coming together, food love and generosity with neighbors. The rich culture comes through through different ways in this book. I love the clothes in the illustrations and the Eid menu sounds amazing. I absolutely love how beautifully the ayah from the Qur’an is integrated into the story of classroom diversity. The book doesn’t specify which Eid is being celebrated so this story works well for both. The end of the book also includes a Bean Pie recipe which I am so tempted to try! Honestly, this is a one of a kind book that needs to be included in every Muslim bookshelf, at school or at home.
