My First Book About the Qur’an by Sara Khan

This book is such a treat. It’s a cute little board book that covers a lot of basic information about the Qur’an and its teachings. Introduces the readers to Allah and His creations, the 5 pillars, encourages good manners and deeds, to care for everyone and everything around us.

It is beautifully illustrated, so warm and whimsical. The diversity of people included in one of the pages is what stood out for me; people with different skin tones, different religions as well as a person in a wheelchair.

Since this book is aimed at toddlers and young kids, I am not sure if mentioning the word ‘die’ is age appropriate. I feel that an alternative child-friendly wording would have been more tasteful in this case. Regardless, I would still recommend this book.

The last page includes some facts about the Qur’an and few questions and answers.
